Yes, we know that this is the time of the year when you should really have gifts for your loved ones or at least know what they want for them. If you have one or the other problem here, here are our seven tips for what you might enjoy from sonberks production. And also one bonus tip.
1. Magnum bottle
A bottle of wine will bring joy, and a bigger bottle will bring even more joy. Among other things, we decided to pack our dry Riesling 2017 VOC, semi-dry bottled Riesling Noble rot and Cuvée Chardonnay & Pinot Gris 2016 into 1.5-liter Magnum unusual bottles. It is such a pack that is best suited for wine. You can choose from bottles for 1077 CZK (or Merlot for 1477) at the e-shop.
2. Vertical package with Riesling
For the true lovers of our Riesling, we also have one specialty: the Riesling Vertical, a package that includes six different Rhine Riesling from five years from 2012 to 2016. Ideal for a party with friends where everyone can try to change the character of the wine with the age of the vineyard and the length of ripening o rif it matured in a wooden barel or not. 3. "All in" cassette
A wooden box of three bottles, wine jelly and Sonberks honey is such a quick guide through our production. Start with the young Sauvignon, a light-hearted friend for the evening, go to the aromatic Gewürztraminer, and as a final get our award-winning Riesling VOC. 4. Voucher for a Sonberk tour with a tasting
You can have our wine anytime at home or in the restaurant, but the experience will be complete if you enjoy it right here with us on a terrace overlooking Pálava. For 1500 CZK, you can have an hour-long sightseeing tour with a vineyard worker, who will guide you through a vineyard and cellar and give you eight samples to sample. Right choice? 5. V8 winemaker alliance cassette
For several years we have been part of the Alliance of Wine Growers, for example, along with Volařík winery, Kolby winery or Krásná hora. It also places us in a special wooden cassette, where you can find the most interesting wines of all members of the club. Take a look and order here.
6. If you prefer it to be sweeter: straw wine and wine jelly.
Sonberk is focused mostly on making dry wines, but we also have exceptions. One of them (and very popular and awarded on competitions) is straw Pálava, a dessert wine made of grapes that dried for six months under our wavy roof. It's a great specialty to pair with food, much more when you drink it with our wine jelly. LINK
7. Something Sharper:
The Bottle of Pálavice. It does not seem like it, but sometimes it’s nice to do other things besides wine. And that’s what we did. And the result is Pálavice, Italian-style grape-based pomace brandy known as Grappa with 42 percent alcohol.
