What about your 2023? Most of us reflect back in December and think about our successes and most important moments. We hope you enjoyed 2023 and made the best out of every month, week and day. However, we are here to remind you of the moments from Sonberk. Thank you for your support and now let's remember together the special year 2023, when we started celebrating our 20th anniversary.
We met under our roof thanks to various occasions
The doors to our winery are opened all year round and we often organize special events to create unforgettable experiences together. So on what occasion did we see you? Was it April when the 2nd annual Riesling Night took place? Or in July when we celebrated our 20th anniversary together? Many of you came because of the music that sounded in our vineyards thanks to the summer concerts. Then in September, in cooperation with NonMen Run, two new running tracks around Sonberk were ceremoniously opened, so we connected sport and wine.
Germany, France, Sweden, Canada and America…
We are always happy to see you, our fans and supporters, in person, not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. In March, ProWein took place in Düsseldorf, the wine trade fair in Europe, where we presented our wines to 49,000 professional visitors. We also visited the Örebro Vinmässa fair in Sweden. Our Pálava Noble rot 2019 made it to the largest international wine exhibition in the world, La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. And April 13th was important for the sweet Pálava Noble rot, which made it to the American River Run festival held in Washington. Well, for the first time in history, Sonberk expanded into Atlantic, which is the region of Eastern Canada.
You bought all the bottles of the first Sonberk sparkling wine in only 7 days
As part of our 20th birthday, there was a lot of news. The historic first sparkling Chardonnay from Sonberk - sparkling wine Blanc de Blancs. It only stayed in the eshop for a few days, which made us very happy. And a bit from a different perspective - this year we introduced the option to pay with the cryptocurrency payment method, which was released to the public together with the new NFT from Sonberk - Chardonnay NerezFermenTed with our cat Micka on the label.
We also met online on various platforms
You could listen to us thanks to our podcast Between the Lines, where we bring interesting interviews with people from the winery industry. This year, there were seven episodes where we talked about the VOC Hustopečsko association with Radek Sedláček, a wine internship in Australia with Dominika Černohorská from the Plenér winery, or the 20th anniversary of Sonberk with our sommelier David Pavlíček.
