Who watches our Facebook or Instagram profile, knows this, but still ... Besides the fact that our winegrower Roman is excellent at working with a vineyard and always invents new solutions, he is very interested in photography. Evidence of this is his current success in France: two of his photos were selected by hundreds of images, which can be admired until Sunday by visitors to the exhibition entitled Terroirs d'Images in Marseille, France.
As the name suggests, pictures from the plant life of the grapevine and the life of the winemakers themselves are presented there. Sonberk represents a photo of a must flowing through a sieve while pressing the Pálava straw and a snapshot of drying grapes in sunlight. Interestingly, Roman sent more photos to the contest and these two were not his first choice. "As the competition deadline was approaching, I kept thinking that we had to send it, but of course I only got to it at the last minute. I chose something and my colleague Sandra just addes these two photos, which the jury eventually appreciated, ”says Roman, who received an offer to come and see the exhibition. But because there is a lot of work in the vineyard now, he couldn’t.
It's not his first photographic success. Few years ago, his photo appeared on the front page of the professional magazine Vinařský obzor, and last year he even won the Wine & Degustation magazine photography competition. The organizers rewarded him with a camera that documents everything around the Sonberk vineyard to this day. But they are only plants and animals, but Roman does not like to photograph people.
